MEET LEAH
HELLO AND WELCOME
My name is Leah, and I’m so happy you’re here.
I am a photographer based in Arizona during the Winter and Minnesota in the Summer, but available wherever your story calls home. I photograph weddings for couples who want something meaningful, not performative. Families who care more about presence than perfection. People who believe the non-traditional stories are the best ones, and want to document their life as it is.
I strongly believe in living each day to the fullest, and leaning into your unique life. Because of that, I also believe it should be remembered and celebrated — both the big and small moments. Having timeless photographs with natural editing is incredibly important to the way I want my own life captured, so I want to always provide that same experience to anyone I have the opportunity to photograph.
Thank you for taking the time to be here, I hope to hear your story soon.
MY STORY
My passion for photography grew from capturing my favorite moments with family and friends while growing up in the midwest. Throughout college and beyond I spent my time traveling around the world learning new cultures, hearing people’s stories, and watching how everybody approached their life uniquely.
I hiked my camera deep into mountain ranges, carried it to dozens of countries in my bag in place of clothes, and shot in extreme conditions — all to be able to capture the moments I wanted to remember most.
Then, when my husband and I were planning our wedding, we chose not to follow the traditional path. We invited 15 of our closest people to Carmel, California (a city we lived in and fell deeply in love with). We hiked our favorite trail in the morning with our family, followed by a pool dip and some golf. I did my own hair and makeup. We said our vows barefoot, with just the ocean behind us and tears in our eyes. We danced to our favorite songs on a portable speaker and laughed to stories by the bonfire the rest of the evening.
It wasn’t traditional. It wasn’t trendy. But it was perfectly us — and it was everything.
I believe in documenting love and life in a way that’s rooted in who you are, not who the internet says you should be. I believe in slowing down. In letting things unfold organically. In capturing the true emotion behind the moment. Being completely present with those you love most, in a place you love with all your heart. These experiences have shaped the way I approach photography today, influencing my professional work and providing me the great privilege to capture love stories in people’s favorite places around the world.
